On January 18, 2010, the Wyckoff fire department held their annual ice rescue drill at Zabriskie Pond on Franklin Avenue. The drill simulated multiple victims falling through ice in order to prepare surrounding towns for such an incident. Members used ice rescue equipment to recover the victims. In addition to the WFD, fire departments from Waldwick, Oakland, and Franklin Lakes attended along with the Ridgewood Emergency Services, and Wyckoff and Midland Park Ambulance Corps.
